On our latest cover, Lina Luces, a beautiful Cuban-American model with striking green eyes and from the influential Estefan family, shares her journey in the modeling world. She tells us about the advantages and disadvantages that come with her family legacy and how she has evolved from a sweet girl to a determined and empowered woman, ready to face new challenges and conquer the world on her own. Her story reflects a mix of pride and ambition, marking a new chapter in her life.
Lina Luaces not only represents the beauty of a model, but also the strength of a woman who knows who she is and where she wants to go. Her story is a testament to growth, resilience, and the constant search for independence in a world that often expects one to be defined by their legacy. Lina’s story is just the beginning of what promises to be a brilliant and influential career
Future Goals: Looking ahead, what are some specific goals or milestones you hope to achieve in your modeling career? Are there any particular projects or campaigns you're aiming to be part of?
Get this question often but of course I have an idea of what I would like to accomplish but I try not to put so much pressure on specific goals and more so focus on the journey and enjoying it for what it is and what’s to come.
Balancing Legacy and Individuality: Being the daughter of Lili Estefan and part of the Estefan family legacy is significant. How do you balance the expectations that come with that legacy while establishing your own identity in the modeling industry?
It’s a huge honor to be born into the family I was born into and I’m grateful for it every day, but it has been a battle finding my individuality in the midst of it. This is something I think about quite often. In all honesty, I’ve gotten to the point in my life that I’ve learned to release expectations from the outside world and block out the noise because the media and public are ALWAYS going to have something to say no matter how well you’re doing. You could be walking on water and they’ll say it’s because you can’t swim. I am my own person and I’m proud of the woman that I’ve become and to me that’s all that matters. The only expectations I’m really worried about are my own because I’m not pursuing this career to please the public, I’m doing it because I genuinely love it, it fulfills me, and makes me happy. It’s a blessing to have been born into a family with so much talent and success, and it doesn’t always have to be a competition on who is the most successful one. There’s always going to be room for all of us to shine in our own way.
Motional Impact: How does it feel to be recognized as one of the favorites within such a beloved family? Does that recognition motivate you to push harder in your career, or does it sometimes feel like pressure?
The recognition will always motivate me to work harder. But then again, I try to not put too much pressure on the idea and remind myself that I’m doing this to have fun and I should love what I do, not make it stressful and worry about how I’m being perceived and compared to my family at all times

LUCIANA SISMONDI

It is a pleasure to have with us in this new edition a beautiful Argentine host, who warmed up the city of Miami in the middle of winter.

OTAG: To start, could you tell us when your career as a presenter began and how you came to work at Telehit in Mexico?

LD: Since I was very little I dreamed of being a presenter, in fact I always imitated a presenter from Argentina that I really liked. She would lock me in my room and make me interview my teddy bears and Barbies. It was always clear to me, so when I grew up I went to study a degree in communication in Buenos Aires. I graduated and started writing for a magazine, but I knew I wanted to be hosting a show. Everything happened, my agency in Buenos Aires sent me to Mexico for a job and I fell in love with that country, so I returned, filled out all the paperwork and came to live in Mexico. Then, during the pandemic, I got the casting for Telehit, I did it and a few weeks later they told me that it had happened, I was happy. And that's where it all began. I have been at Telehit for almost 4 years and it fascinates me every day. I enjoy it as if it were the first day.

OTAG : Could you tell us about some of your most exciting or significant projects that you've worked on recently?

LD: Of course, I had a participation in the Novel “Pienso en ti”, for me it was a great challenge because it was my first novel, and at that time I was recording two live programs, so I didn't stop for a second, but the entire cast was wonderful to me. Then I was one of the hosts of the program "Te Quiero Ver Ganar", which is an entertainment and challenge program with people. I had too much fun, I was constantly laughing. Then, at the beginning of this year, I recorded for a comedy series that I can't talk much about yet, but it will come out on the VIX platform. It really was a great adventure that I am very excited about and I hope you see it soon. And currently I continue hosting Telehit's "QueNews", a live program every day at 6 pm on Telehit where we give national and international news from the world of music, cinema and influencers. And we interview artists live.

OTAG: Telehit is a highly influential platform in the entertainment field in Mexico and beyond. What does it mean to you to be part of Telehit and what do you think is its impact on the industry?

LD: I feel like a very lucky person because I love my job. I always dreamed of driving, interviewing artists and now I am living it. It allows me to know too many artists, singers, their history. And I learned a lot about music too. Although I always liked music, today I learned to love it. There is a beautiful phrase from Plato that says: “music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flights to the imagination, consolation to sadness, life and joy to all things. My job also gives me the privilege of traveling. Last week I traveled to Costa Rica to cover the Picknic festival, the most important festival in Central America. Then, next week I travel to Miami and then to Monterrey to be at the PAL Norte festival and interview all the artists who will be performing there. Lately I've been living on airplanes hahaha.

OTAG: We know you've had the opportunity to pose for incredible photo shoots in iconic locations like Miami Beach. How did it feel to pose in a bikini in a location with lower temperatures than usual? Were there any special challenges during that experience?

LD: Oh, it makes me cold to remember it! Yes, I just had to take photos on the beach and it was colder than in all of Mexico! Too much wind and the sea was angry. The key for that moment and avoiding the cold is to do everything quickly and professionally. So with my dear photographer friend Gato Rivero, who we already know, we organized ourselves well, we were very clear about what we had to do and that's how everything went faster. But something really funny happened to us because while we were taking the photos we left our bags in the sand but a wave came so big that it wet everything. But nothing serious that could not be solved.

OTAG : Thank you for sharing those moments with us! It has been a pleasure to have you in our magazine and we wish you every success in your future projects.

LD: The pleasure is mine, thank you for inviting me and for your support. See you on Telehit!
